We pre-sell cows by the half or whole cow at $8/pound for hanging weight. 

 

Definition of Hanging Weight: the weight of the cow carcass after initial slaughter and processing. It’s the weight of the carcass after the hide, head and some organs have been removed. The actual meat you will receive is typically 60% +/- of the hanging weight.

 

The current purchase rate is eight dollars per pound. We are selling cows by the half, one quarter, and hole at this time 1/2 cow will require approximately 10 cubic feet of freezer space and feeds a family of 4 around 6 to 12 months.

 

Cow hanging weight can range between 500-800 pounds.  If a cows hanging weight is 600 pounds (which is typically a whole cow) the packaged weight of the cow will be approximately 360 pounds of meat. If a half cow hanging weight is 300 pounds.(which is typically a half cow), the packaged weight of the meat will be approximately 180 pounds. As mentioned previously, the typical yield from a cow from hanging weight to packaged weight is approximately 60%. No weight guaranteed as each is individual.

 

We do have availability to specify the type of meat cut that you would like at time of processing. A deposit of half purchase price is required at the time of order and is nonrefundable (unless of course the issue is on our side for some reason).

 

Average Cost for 1/2 cow is $2500 and whole cow is $5000 depending on hanging weight at time of processing.
